What was the inspiration for this project?
“When I began to work on this project fall was in full bloom and the season itself Inspired me to make the design choices I did. Fall has always been a favorite time of year for me! I love that it’s not too hot, but not too cold. There are so many fun options you can throw into a fall wedding, which is why I added custom elements like the popcorn bar for guests! I really wanted a romantic and elegant feel while staying inspired by casual midwestern charm.”
What did you find to be the most challenging?
“The most challenging element for me was navigating through the multitude of options that Pinterest gave me. With so many options, it can be easy to lose sight of the overall theme you are going for, but with careful consideration you can make complimentary design choices that will really accent the event style you are aiming for.”
What was your favorite part?
“My favorite part of the project was seeing how all the different elements came together to make a cohesive event. There are so many moving parts that are involved when planning a wedding, and it’s important to make design choices that are going to be unique to the couple’s personality and love story, so I spent lots of time looking for little details that I could throw into the wedding, that would compliment the uniqueness of my clients. In my project, the couple met while in Choir at College so one way I decided to incorporate their love story into their wedding day, was by providing guests a CD Favor with a Soundtrack to the Bride and Grooms Favorite Tunes!”
What was the biggest take-away you learned?
“The biggest take-way I learned from this project was the importance of understanding the A6/A8 Formula. When you fully understand the formula you can make design choices that compliment each other. I also started my project, by looking on Pinterest for the latest trends, and narrowed down my ideas from there. Using Wix to create my website was a great choice for me. There are tons of ways to organize your information when creating a Wix Website, which helped me create a clean-cut, organized and attractive website that would showcase my design ideas to my clients in an appealing manner.”
What advice do you have for anyone planning an event?
“The biggest advice I have for anyone planning an event is to do thorough Research. As planners, it’s important we research the latest trends and styles to keep up-to-date with the current happenings in our field of expertise. I think the fun thing about being a planner is that you can do what works best for you. It’s great to collaborate with other planners, and learn from their methods, but at the end of the day you get to choose what works best for you and your business! Be confident in your ideas and visions and when in doubt collaborate with other Creative Professionals in the field that can guide you in the right direction!”
